Going Home
June 21st, 2004 by Ian
Well, we’ve left Key West. We are on Highway 1 heading north to Fort Lauderdale. From there we catch a plane back to Dallas. I’m sad that the vacation is ending. But I’m also glad to be heading home. I’m looking forward to sleeping in my own bed. And to see Jessie, Caleb, and Nigel. I’m sure they have barely noticed we are gone, but I’ve missed them.
Our last full day in Key West was spent shopping and going to the aquarium. One of the great things about the aquarium was being able to identify all the fish I spotted while snorkeling. Of course, I can no longer remember any of the names so I guess I didn’t learn anything. The rest of the day was spent enjoying the pool and house. We went all our for dinner and grilled pork tenderloin. Had baked potatoes and corn on the side. Yum, yum. Then we stayed up late - just floating in the pool with drinks in hand.
No plans for when we return home. Bobby and I don’t go back to work until Wednesday so we still have one more day of vacation. I’m so glad we did that. It will be nice to have a day to get back in our routine. And do laundry - so much laundry to do!
Maybe I’ll make a trip to JoAnn’s and look for drapery fabric for my office. I’m ready to do some more sewing. I think drapes should be easy since it is all straight stitches. I don’t plan on being too fancy. I’m still barely a beginner
Well, I should stop annoying the rest of the car with my typing. And I can use a nap!
