I’m Coming Out!

Just ran across this article on yahoo. A character on “The Simpsons” will be coming out soon. In an episode that will air next season, Springfield decides to legalize gay marriage to bring in more tax money (seems smart to me). One of the regular characters will come out during the ensuing fun. I’m thinking it will either be Smithers or Homer’s friend Carl. I can’t wait to see it. I love “The Simpsons”! It is one of the best shows on tv.
I wonder if it will be a female. Perhaps one of Marge’s sisters? What is it is Flanders? That would be just too ironic.
How could it NOT be Smithers? Unless they’re trying for the element of surprise….
Smithers was my first guess. But I’m thinking they may go for something more surprising. We all already know that Smithers is “G” (as one of my younger cousins refers to it). I can’t wait to find out!
The Simpsons is still one of the best, and truly funny, shows on TV. And the one where Homer was afraid Bart was turning gay was one of the best Simpsons episodes ever, so I expect amazingness!

Interestingly, today while watching a “media workshop” on C-SPAN, the anchor of Fox25 (Boston) “announced” that The Simpsons was going to have a “gay marriage”, and this was on Fox. I assume the comment was being made to say, “see, we don’t hate you”
