The Good and The Bad

Bobby and I went out for a nice lunch at Le Madeline’s this afternoon. I really enjoyed lunch up until the point we looked out the window. That is when we noticed that my vehicle had a flat tire. Luckily, we were less than a mile away from NTB where I purchased the tire. We stopped at the gas station near us, aired up the tire, and headed to NTB. They told us the tire would have to be replaced and probably wouldn’t be ready until the next morning (they had a backlog of cars). Luckily, our wonderful friend James was able to come pick us up and drive us home.
We were home only 15 minutes when NTB called to tell me that the tire would need to be replaced (which they had already told me) and they didn’t have the tire in stock. Why they did not check that when I was standing at the desk, I do not know. So Bobby had to drive me to NTB to pick up my car. When we got there, they told us they had put on a spare and would bring the car around. Twenty minutes later they actually bring the car around. By then it is 6 o’clock and every other tire place in town is closed. I was stuck with a dounut on my rear tire. I was livid! I had taken the care to NTB at 3:30 and it had taken them 2.5 hours to ascertain that they tire needed replacing, they didn’t have the tire in stock, and put on a spare. I could have put the damn spare on myself in 30 minutes!
I’ve decided that I am through doing business with NTB. There is a Goodyear service center near our house that I have gotten excellent service from in the past. For now on, I will be doing all my vehicle work with them.
So that was the bad. The good was dinner with friends. On our way back home (the first time), James invited us over for dinner. So we spent the evening with a number of good friends over great food and drinks. It more than made up for the shitty afternoon. Thank you Chris and James. I appreciate it!
On another good note, Jonas made a DVD of video he shot on our Key West trip. Using a mac, he was able to put together a great movie of our vacation. I am very impressed with it. It really makes me want to run out and buy a camcorder and iMac. I’ll just have to convince Bobby ![]()

I don’t think it’ll take too much convincing. Hmm, I see a joint anniversary gift idea!
You iMac heads.
Use Goodyear and Firestone places with caution. The Goodyear here usually gives good services but often tries to sell you other services. You might go in to get a new tire and come out with a brake job!
