The Dead Walk
September 26th, 2004 by Ian
I just crawled out of bed a few minutes ago. I’m still too tired to trek downstairs so I collapsed in my office chair. I fee so lazy. I can hear Bobby outside mowing the lawn and I am inside unable to tackle a flight of stairs. I did really need the sleep though. Friday night I got only about 4-5 hours. And we stayed up late last night as well.
Friday night was fun. My team at work had a happy hour from 5-7 at some sports bar. The only thing good about it was that my manager was paying for everything on the corporate card. After the “official” happy hour, the fun group from work went to the Velvet Hookah in Deep Ellum. There we really had fun. Bobby and Brian even joined us. I found that I really love the hookah. It is like a large flavored pipe. And the flavors are wonderful. My favorite was one that tasted like roses. They also had great martinis that I consumed like water. I will definitley be going back there again! After the bar, we headed to Monica’s for dinner - Yum! I believe we got home around 2:30, though I don’t quite remember
Saturday I was up at 7:30. Don’t ask me why. It is so unlike me, especially since I went to bed so late. I spent the morning being lazy on the couch. Then spent the afternoon getting my hair cut, shopping with Brian, and fixing flat tires.
Saturday night Bobby and I celebrated our 6th anniversary. Hard to believe it has been that long. It seems like only a couple of years ago that we were meeting up to rollerblade around the library at A&M. It is kind of funny to think back about our courtship and then look at things now. So much about us has changed. It seems like two different worlds.
We spent the evening together at home. I had picked up a meal to go at Central Market so neither of us would have to cook. We had a romantic dinner, cuddled on the couch, and then ended up watching Star Wars IV (I got him the new DVD set as a present). It was a wonderful evening and the perfect way to celebrate. That man really is the best thing that ever happened to me!
All this typing has woken me up. I think I can venture downstairs now. Hmmm, may still need coffee though ![]()

Awwww….congrats you two
BTW, there is a Velvet Hookah in Addison.
I’ve heard the one in Addison is not as nice. And the crowd in Deep Ellum is better - more diverse.
Yes, thanks for the help. Got 4 new tires. Had a great day.
Happy 6th! And many more years to cum…er…come for the both of you
