Desire

Bobby and I watched this week’s West Wing episode tonight. Good episode. But more impressive was the song they played at the end. It grabbed me immediately. I had to run to my computer to find it. It took me about a 2 minutes before I had found it on iTunes and downloaded it. It is Desire by Ryan Adams. Beautiful music!

I have to agree. This week’s episode left me actually wondering if poli-sci is something I want to get into. I think the mundane aspect of getting up at 5;45 is not that far from the truth. Yes the adrenaline pumps through the body, but when you see how repetitive it actually is …

Anyway, I think it was another good episode - another one without many of the staffers in the West Wing - but more character development going on. I really liked the Alan Alda character - yes, Virginia, he is Republican!

I was impressed with the Alan Alda character as well. He is a republican that is not beholden to the christian fanatics. I could vote for a man like that.

It was interesting at the end when Alda and Smits are talking together. Both Bobby and I think the show could end up having one lose their party’s nomination and then being asked by the other to be their vice presidential candidate. It would give a great new mix to the show.

I was also surprised to see all the new faces on the show. A lot of recognizable faces. Makes me wonder if they are going to be on the show long term.

Per your poli-sci comment….I took a constitutional law course when I was at UNT. It was one of the most fascinating courses in my college career. The only problem with it was the amount of work involved. We had to write so many papers!

The Alan Alda character has something few real politicians do. It’s called integrity.
