I noticed that I haven’t been blogging lately. I thought I would fix that with the always interesting “weekend recap”. You know you’re excited 
Went to a team happy hour Friday night for a coworker who is leaving. Had fun chatting with the coworkers outside of the office. People say so much more when they aren’t under big brother’s watchful eye. And when they’ve had a couple of beers. After the happy hour I met up with Brian for dinner and fun. We actually ended up in the gayborhood around 9:30 and decided to step into the new S4 (remodeled Village Station). I’m very impressed with the place. Much more seating, more quiet areas where you can chat, great decor, and huge rose room. We stayed long enough to have a drink and walk around the place. I can’t wait to go back with Bobby and do some dancing.
I took Skylar for his first vet visit on Saturday. All looks good. He has gained 5 pounds since we got him 3 weeks ago. That boy is growing fast! Bobby and I did some work on his train table, replacing the legs with something sturdier. I also did a little work in the yard and rebuilt our laptop (formatted drive, reinstalled everything). We decided to stay in that night, so we rented a movie (Manchurian Candidate) and got a pizza from Sal’s (yum, yum!). I recommend Manchurian Candidate (the new one) to everybody. Interesting storyline with a few plot twists. And if you read between the lines, you see that they are making quite a few jabs at Halliburton.
Sunday was quiet. We bummed around the house then did some shopping. I made two lemon cakes because I was bored. They turned out okay. Bobby really enjoyed it, but I wasn’t overly impressed. The good thing is that you can freeze them. I think they’ll be great with a lemon curd sauce and raspberries. I love me some raspberries!
Oh, I also took a big chunk out of my finger last night. I was using the vegetable peeler to slice some cheese, my hand slipped, and the blades went right into my finger. It didn’t hurt much at first, like a paper cut. I didn’t think it was too bad. But then the blood started gushing and I noticed the big chunk of skin hanging from it. (I know, probably too much info, but this is my blog). After some inspection I saw that I wouldn’t need medical assistance, so I wrapped a paper towel around it and went back to work. The thing bled forever! Finally when the bleeding stopped, I was able to bandage it properly. I wonder what kind of scar it will leave.
Now I’m back at work. About to have a 2 hour meeting to review HALF a document. Should be fun! Well, not really.
Okay, I’ve blogged. Done my duty by putting you all to sleep. Oh well

Ugh…I hope you didn’t tell bobby about your accident until after he ate whatever had that cheese in it!
I’m a pro! I know the rule - what happens in the kitchen, stays in the kitchen. And a little extra iron never hurt anyone, right?
