Meetings All Around

Ah, I’ve gotten a short break from my day of meetings. Today has been hectic!! I have meetings all day. Luckily I did get a short break for lunch. But, literally, my whole day is booked with meetings. My last one got out early so I’m taking a break to blog.
I’m really annoyed by these meetings though because I actually have a lot of work to do - you know, real work that has tangible results. I guess that stuff will just be late. If my manager asks, I can just pull up my calendar.
Don’t all these people know I have more important things to do! The new Tori album came out yesterday so I should be spending my day soaking that in. If only they had a tiny wireless headphone I could wear during meetings. Slip it in my ear, put the iPod in my pocket, and groove away while those around me argue over a “S” in our acronym.

I know how you feel about meetings vs: productive work. I’ve been gone for 5 of the past 8 work days. Clients have been patiently waiting on a number of things, and one of my clients called late yesterday. So I’m about to call him and my boss comes in wanting me to come into his office so we can listen to an hour-long pre-recorded teleconference about broker fees. I say, “Just a sec, I need to call Scott back.” He says, “Can’t it wait?”
I guess our priorities are far too in-line to ever make it very far up the corporate ladder
