Go SpeedRacer!

Today was go, go, go all day. But it turned out wonderfully.
I was up at 7:30 - who the hell knows why. I decided to get started on my house cleaning immediately to prepare for the family’s arrival. I spent the next 5 hours scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping down, and organizing the house. The place looked amazing when I was done. I just danced along to MusicOne as I worked. It went really quickly.
After a quick lunch and shower, I headed out to the grocery store to pick up stuff for tonight’s dinner and Bobby’s b-day party tomorrow. When I made it home, my parents had already arrived. Quick hellos and hugs and then back to work. I got my Mom and Bobby making pico de gallo while I started on my third attempt at carrot cake. This time it all went smoothly and I ended up with 24 beautiful cupcakes. Of course, once that was done, it was time to get the burgers ready for tomorrow. Amy and Dan arrived around 4 and I finally took a break. We all went out back and enjoyed a few drinks in the sunshine while watching Carson giggle and smile. He is such a cute little kid. Seeing him makes me want to start a family of my own. One day we will.
We did fajitas for dinner. I picked up some pre-marinated skirt steak from the carneceria around the corner. It was so damn good! I’m already craving it again. I have to find out what they put in their marinade. It was so yummy! After cleaning up dinner I went to work on the cream cheese icing for the cupcakes. Luckily, this turned out to be much easier for me than the cupcakes themselves. I got it right on the first try. Ended up using some of my skills from cake decorating class and put a large, single orange star on the top of each cupcake. Looked cute!
Now I’m worn out and will be dragging myself to bed. I have to be ready for all the work tomorrow
