I’m Not In The Mood
October 28th, 2005 by Ian
I just caught my director sneaking out of my cube. He smiled and said “You caught me”. I just said “Okay?” and watched him walk away. I get in my cube and find a piece of paper with pumpkins and ghosts, a candy bar, and a halloween themed straw in my seat. My first thought is that he is passing out halloween gifts to help team morale. Well, that won’t work as everyone is angry and stressed (production move in 2 weeks). Nice try, but it takes more than candy to make up for this shitty project.
I then read the text on the piece of paper. Here it is for your enjoyment (annoying capitalization and all):
The Curse Of The “Friendly” Halloween Ghost Is Upon You!!!
To Lift This Curse, You Must Deliver A “Treat” To Two Coworkers
-Be As Creative As You’d Like!!!
You Have 24 Hours To Complete!!!
Post The Picture Of Your “Friendly” Halloween Ghost Under your name-plate.
This Will Ward Off The Return Of The Halloween Ghost.
A Copy Of This Letter And A Photo Of The Friendly Halloween Ghost Should Accompany Each Treat You Give Out.
Secretly Delivery Them To Someone Who Does Not Have A Friendly Halloween Ghost
Remember: You Must Not Be Seen!!!
That Adds To The Mystery And Excitement!!
I threw up a little bit in my mouth after reading it. Sorry if you had the same reaction.
Bylaw 1, section C, “You must not be seen” was violated by your manager when you saw him leaving yoru cube, hereafter referred to as “theAnnoyingManager”. Thus, the terms and conditions of this agreement are null and void and you, hereafter referred to as “theAnnoyedWorker” are not required to fulfill them.
That’d be my story at least.
“Secretly Delivery”? Hmmm… I’d say he broke two rules
I’m just happy to see that “I just threw up a little bit in my mouth” is staying alive
