You’re Beautiful

Friday night I was sitting at home, drinking a Strongbow, chatting online with a friend, and listening to the TV. I found a new program on Logo (the gay channel) called NewNowNext. It is a show that plays videos that they think the gay audience will enjoy. What grabbed my attention immediately is that they played the video for Sia’s “Breathe Me”. (You’ve read me rant many times on this song. I still think it is the best of 2005). Well, the video was very disappointing. The video had nothing to do with the lyrics. It was just dull.

The other videos played were okay. None of the music really grabbed me. That is until “You’re Beautiful” by James Blunt came on. From the opening notes and lyrics, you know the song is going to good. I was hooked. It is an amazing song. The music is sublime, the lyrics are beautiful, and his voice is perfect. I purchased the cd today and am giving it my first listen through right now. So far so good. “You’re Beautiful” remains my favorite, but “Goodbye My Lover” is also really good.

I’m so happy! I love new music :)
