Prayer is the lazy way to save yourself. They should have been busying themselves getting the hell out of the way. And the people who asked for prayers after the fact should have been asking for water, food, shelter, clothing, helicopters, pumps, money, etc. I think God is telling us we should try to do more for ourselves than just constantly rely on Him.
